Helmets
The use of helmets is not required as part of the USATF club system – GVPV neither endorse or discourages the use of helmets. Each athlete and his or her parent should consider the potential benefits or disadvantages of helmet use. If you have questions about helmet use, I’d be happy to discuss it with you further.
Vaulting Poles
Although the club has a number of poles that can be borrowed, it is best that you bring your own poles to jump on during the season. This will allow the coaching staff to make suggestions on how to utilize the equipment that you have available to you.
Each athlete is expected to share poles, whether they are another athletes or GVPV’s poles, under the ‘you break it you bought it’ mentality. Sharing of poles is necessary to ensure the success of each athlete as the right pole for the jump is a significant strategy for success at GVPV.
